What is Fiverr? How can Fiverr help us?
I first heard about fiverr in 2013 from a friend. Back then Fiverr was fairly new and was growing its popularity on the digital marketplace. Now years later Fiverr it’s one of the most popular websites for freelancers. Here are some details on Fiverr, services offered, and what to expect on the website, as well as my recommendation.

What is Fiverr?
Fiverr is an online marketplace that offers freelancing services. Fiverr was founded by Micha Kaufman and Shai Wininger and the company launched in February of 2010. Both founders created an idea to host a marketplace that allows freelancers the ability to buy and sell services digitally. Fiverr is one the most trusted online services for freelancers. The company is projected to make over 145,000,000 in revenue in 2020.
What services does Fiverr offer?
The services that Fiverr provides include writing services, graphic designs, video editing, and lots more. The services offered can help those who may have a vision for an idea but aren’t sure how to get started on the project and need professional help. Or, if you are a writer and need someone to help edit your work and give you feedback, Fiverr is a great space for that. One of the most popular services being used currently on Fiverr is website and logo design. There are hundreds of different options between Art, Music, Writing, Illustrations, Digital Marketing, and even Tech services.
What’s the process?
When you are looking for a particular service, you select a price range, delivery time, and service option. You can also choose between pro services, local sellers, and online sellers. Choose the options that work best for you and your project. When you make your selections, you will see the number of services that are available in your area. On the results page you will find different freelancers and you will see the price they will charge for working on your project. Prices vary but you can select the price that you want to pay which is one of the great things about this marketplace. When you select the person that you would like to work with on your project, they will list some of the packages that they offer. So, if you are looking for a little more, you will find the freelancers packages listing from basic to premium. Fiverr allows you to compare all the packages. When you are ready to move forward, select “continue” and you will be taken to the payment page. Just keep in mind that if you do not select “local” as a service preference, the freelancer could be in another country. Just remember to select what makes you comfortable 😊.
Can you become a freelancer on Fiverr?
Yes, you can! To become a member of the fiverr community sign up on the website. You will be required to prove a level of proficiency with certificates, degrees, etc. in order to be eligible to offer certain services. Also, you will have to show proof of residency.
What’s my experience with Fiverr?
I have used Fiverr in search of writing services and have been very pleased with the level of professionalism the freelancers have on this site. I also plan to work with a freelancer on Fiverr for some social media cartoon illustrations as well as guidance for newsletter development for my blog.
The bad reviews on Fiverr 2015-2018
So, as much as I love Fiverr, I am very transparent and honest. There were some “not so great” reviews about Fiverr a few years ago. In 2015 there were some lawsuits from Amazon against Fiverr for “Fake Product Reviews.” Also, in 2018 Fiverr received an F by the Better Business Bureau. Well, an F is very, very, very, very bad. However, Fiverr has made a lot of changes and has focused more on customer service and having more balance in their business. In 2019 Fiverr received a B by the Better Business Bureau and has been continuing to improve their quality service and serving customers needs.
Would I recommend Fiverr?
Yes! I recommend Fiverr. Fiverr has a lot to offer and provides services that make life a lot easier. Another thing that I love about Fiverr is the “Learn by Fiverr” feature. This section of the website has courses to help with Marketing, Web Design, Graphic Design, Video, and Photography. Finding Courses in your niche can be challenging.
